Controlling Ozone Emissions at the Source: Minstrong’s Catalytic Solution

In modern industrial and municipal facilities, ozone, as a strong oxidant, is widely used in key processes such as water treatment disinfection, industrial synthesis, and air purification. However, the byproduct of this highly efficient process—ozone remaining in exhaust gases—poses a significant challenge. High concentrations of ozone are not only highly irritating to the human respiratory tract and harmful to the health of operators, but their emissions are also subject to increasingly stringent environmental regulations. Therefore, how to efficiently, economically, and safely eliminate ozone from exhaust gases has become a crucial hurdle for many companies to overcome in achieving green production and compliant operation.

Faced with this common industry challenge, Minstrong, leveraging its extensive experience in catalytic materials research and development, has launched the high-performance MINSLITE-B ozone decomposition catalyst. Our solution is rooted in a simple yet efficient scientific principle: under ambient temperature conditions, through the active sites on the catalyst surface, unstable and harmful ozone molecules (O₃) are catalytically decomposed into completely harmless and stable oxygen (O₂). This process requires no additional heat or electricity and produces no secondary pollutants such as nitrogen oxides, achieving truly clean decomposition.

The core of Minstrong 's ozone decomposition catalyst lies in its unique granular manganese dioxide-copper oxide composite formulation. This classic and efficient combination, optimized through our refined preparation process, endows the catalyst with excellent initial activity, superior moisture resistance, and satisfactory mechanical strength. The catalyst is designed with a particle morphology of suitable particle size and pore structure, ensuring low gas resistance and maximum effective contact area in the packed bed, thus laying the physical foundation for long-term, continuous, and stable industrial operation.

Its working principle is intuitive and reliable. When ozone-containing exhaust gas passes through a fixed-bed reactor containing Minstrong catalyst driven by a fan, ozone molecules fully contact the catalyst surface and undergo catalytic decomposition. The entire process is "passive," requiring no complex heating or modification to existing exhaust systems, greatly reducing the installation and usage barriers for users. The system design is simple, ready to use immediately, and has low maintenance costs.

This solution has a wide range of applications covering areas with potential ozone emission risks:

  • Water Treatment Industry: Treatment of exhaust gases from municipal water and wastewater treatment plants after deep disinfection using ozone.
  • Electronics and Printing Industry: Ozone generated during the operation of laminating machines, static eliminators, corona processors, and non-thermal plasma equipment.
  • Laboratory Environments: Laboratory fume hoods and overall exhaust systems using UV lamps or ozone generators.
  • Comprehensive Industrial Ventilation: Process exhaust from various chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries that may involve ozone use.

Minstrong deeply understands the real challenges of industrial environments. Real-world operating environments are often accompanied by complex factors such as airflow fluctuations, humidity changes, and space constraints. Our catalyst products undergo thorough testing and optimization for these variables during the R&D phase to ensure excellent decomposition efficiency and long catalytic life under a wide range of operating conditions, helping users consistently meet emission standards and ensuring production safety.

We firmly believe that the most effective technology is one that can be seamlessly integrated into existing processes and effectively solve pain points. Minstrong not only provides high-performance catalysts, but also strives to offer customers complete catalytic solutions, encompassing technical consulting, solution design, and operational support. Our goal is to become a trusted partner for businesses, jointly driving safer, greener, and more sustainable industrial processes.
